| We often receive similar questions from a
variety of clients so we decided to keep the most
frequent ones posted on the web site. Please e-mail us if
you need answers you can't find here. Q: What CAD file formats do you
accept?
A: See our Data Submission
Guidelines in the Capabilities Section.
Q: What factors affect
the delivery of my project?
A: The first major factor would be whether
or not the project will progress traditionally or by
using Concurrent
Engineering. Mold details and the number of parts are
two other important considerations when planning the
timeline of your project. We will work with you to
develop a timeline that ensures a speedy but high-quality
tool.
Q: I'm having a problem
setting up and running our mold. Are your engineers
available to come to my location? I don't really want to
lose time shipping the mold.
A: Certainly. We'll assist you in any way
needed to ensure your mold exceeds your standards,
including working on
location.
Q: May I e-mail my CAD
file to you?
A: Yes, we accept CAD files via e-mail.
Just check out the Data
Submission Guidelines if you want more information on
file formats, e-mail addresses, and information for files
that are too large to e-mail.
Q: Will you then e-mail
the mold's CAD file back to me?
A: Yes, if you prefer, we can do that. Just
be certain you give us the exact e-mail address you'd
like us to use.
Q: How can I ensure that
our parts will release from a mold properly?
A: There are several ways to accomplish
this but it all relates to well-designed molds. Adding
more draft can encourage proper release as well as
installing pullers. A common mistake during the design
process is to assume that a smoother finish is always
better.
Q: What's the best way to
control cooling?
A: By installing water circuits or
isolating water circuits for better temperature control.
Q: My mold blows open.
How can I keep this from happening?
A: Adding parting line locks or more
support pillars can fix this. However, adding them
properly depends upon which direction the mold is blowing
open.
Q: What can I do to
properly maintain my molds?
A: Surface clean the molds on a regular
basis and use proper types of grease for the particular
situation.
Q: I need specific
technical advice. Whom may I direct my Questions to?
A: You have several choices. Within our
Request Section, we have an e-mail form that can
be submitted and we'll respond within 24 hours. You can
also call us at (317) 776-6823
Q: Are you hiring?
A: We always want to meet the best
craftspersons available. If you're interested in
exploring a future see our employment information
on this web site.
